We will be closing on October 16, 2011 then we will take the winter off to visit family, take care of maintenance on the inn, ski, and sleep in. We want to thank all of you who visited us this year. We hope we lived up to your expectations - you are always a pleasure to us and make our work seem a lot more like play. We'll be posting now and then.Have a wonderful winter and we hope to see you all here in 2012.

Every year the Boothbay Railway Village celebrates the season the old fashioned way with their Fall Foliage Festival. On October 8 and 9 enjoy superb crafts, good food and great entertainment. It's a down home way to kick off this glourious time of year.

It's a great time of year for the Boothbay Region Botanical Gardens.
Maine Fiberarts Exhibit. October 1-10. An exhibit of a wide array of exquisite work by talented Maine artisans. Items are for sale daily.

Scarecrow Sunday. October 2. Build your very own scarecrow at this popular annual fall event! All the materials will be provided and you can even take your scarecrow home after the event.

Music at the Gardens. October 9. DaPonte String Quartet Leaf Peepers Concert.

The Stone Coast. Now through October 10. View the work of seven of Maine's finest stone sculptors sited to its best advantage in the gardens.

Cider Pressing. October 15. Enjoy and learn about one of our country's greatest - and tastiest - seasonal traditions, apple cider pressing!

The Boothbay Opera House has wowed a lot of people this summer with preformances by Tom Rush, Leo Kotkee, and Delfao Marsallas. But nobody took the roof off like the New Orleans Preservation Hall Jazz Band. They will be ending this season with Tommy Malone of the subdudes on Sept. 30, and the Prodigals for Irish music that rocks on Oct. 8. www.boothbayoperahouse.com

Mike and De have lived in East Boothbay for 16 years and know all the great things to do. They are happy to help with advice on what to see, what to do, where to eat, where to shop ... all the wonderful activities the area has to offer. They are pleased to furnish maps for day trips, hikes, walks, and bicycling. They'll tell you their favorite restaurants for lobster (and how to eat it!), the best rooftop bar, where to buy a lobster buoy, and the best place to just hang out (the hammock on the front porch of the inn!)
